Acupuncture Points for Hashimoto's Thyroiditis

Generally accepted Acupuncture Points for Hashimoto's Thyroiditis:


Kidney Channel KD3 Acupuncture Point (太谿 (taì xī)) / (태계 (tae yeon))

Chinese: 太谿 (taì xī)

Korean: 태계 (tae yeon)

Translation: Great Stream

CAM Location: in depression between tip of medial malleolus and Achilles Tendon.


Large Intestine Channel LI18 Acupuncture Point (扶突 (fú tū)) / (부돌 (bu dol))

Chinese: 扶突 (fú tū)

Korean: 부돌 (bu dol)

Translation: Beside the Prominence

CAM Location: on lateral side of neck, level with tip of Adam's Apple between sternal and clavicular heads of SCM muscle.


Stomach Channel ST9 Acupuncture Point (人迎 (rén yíng)) / (인영 (in yeong))

Chinese: 人迎 (rén yíng)

Korean: 인영 (in yeong)

Translation: Man's Prognosis

CAM Location: level with tip of Adam's Apple where pulsation of common carotid artery is palpable on anterior border of SCM muscle.
